Bohemia Interactive donates one million Czech koruna from Arma 3 Karts DLC sales to charity

Bohemia Interactive today announced that one million Czech koruna from the Arma 3 Karts DLC sales will be donated to the Czech Red Cross. Arma 3 Karts, which was originally revealed as an April Fools‘ joke, was released about one month ago as a fun little sidestep in Arma 3’s typically military sandbox. Its primary purpose was to test Arma 3’s experimental approach to DLC, which Bohemia Interactive explained in more detail in their recent devblog.

Roadmap 2014/15 - Arma 3 DLC Strategy

A few weeks ago we shared the first details on our roadmap for Arma 3, outlining what we're working on for the years 2014 and 2015. We discussed further support, such as the free Bootcamp Update, revealed two premium DownLoadable Content (DLC) packages, and provided a first glance at a future Expansion.

Today, we'd like to follow-up on that and explain how this new content fits into the Arma 3 platform, mainly with regards to preventing a split in our playerbase. To frame our plans, let's take a look at the way DLC is typically handled in games, the way we did it for Arma 2, and our motivations for changing this up in Arma 3.

Bohemia Interactive and ICRC promote respect for health care in video games

Bohemia Interactive and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) today shared a new video to raise awareness for the topic of ‘Health Care in Danger’. In the video, Christian Rouffaer - head of the ICRC's international humanitarian law and video games project – discusses his role at the ICRC, the ICRC’s Health Care in Danger campaign, and the connection with Bohemia Interactive’s €500,000 Make Arma Not War contest.
