Frequently asked questions
As you know, Gamespy, the system that has been handling the majority of the multiplayer in many of our games is shutting down. There is no reason to worry however, as there is another method to play online.

How to connect to server?
In order to connect to a server you need to know the its IP address and port. Usually, these can be obtained from the server host (in most cases, they would have a website with the server details). Once you know those, follow the steps bellow to connect:
1. Select Multiplayer.
2. Choose Remote.
3. Enter IP address of the server. Do not forget to change the port and then continue with OK
4. Select the server and click Join
Please download and install patch 1.14 from here:

It will remove any online activations. There is a newer patch, 1.18, which you can also use if you have problems with 1.14:

Please note that 1.18 can cause graphical glitches on some Win 7 64bit systems.
In case you experience sound problems in Arma 1 or no sound at all, please try this:
Create a system restore point, just in case:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Create-a-restore-pointOpen Windows Control Panel, go to Hardware and Sound --> Sound.
Delete all sound playback devices except the default one (usually the speakers).
Try running the game again.
