Bohemia Recap – December 2023
Welcome one and all to a brand new year! We Bohemians are back at work after a frantic and festive December. Vigor reached a huge milestone by releasing its 100th stream, while Ylands released an experimental build that’s driving players wild. Meanwhile, Arma 3 announced the winners in its Czech Veterans Day contest and Arma Reforger released a deluxe new edition of the game. Not to be outdone, Silica released a much anticipated update and DayZ celebrated ten thrilling years of survival.
In other words, we ended 2023 the way we started – with a bang. So let’s dive into the highlights and headlines that marked the end of a whirlwind year.
Vigor
We held a competition on each Advent Sunday in December and dubbed all four of them the Advent Sundays. Then we reached a huge milestone right before Christmas by completing our 100th stream! We’d like to thank the hosts and all of the guests who appeared on our streams over the years. We couldn’t have done it without you!
In other news, we held a special Double XP event, snowball fights returned to Elimination, and the team performed a wholesome rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas.
We also published a Recap Video and Recap Blog for 2023, and did a 12 Days to Christmas countdown on our socials. The community was treated to insights, sneak peeks, and other fun stuff we have prepared for the new year!
Ylands
We released an experimental build for update 2.2 and players already love the changes. We hope you’ll try it out as well!
Our Winter Fest event is still live. Join other Ylanders as they hunt for achievements, tame festive animals, and sweep the world for toys. We’re so hyped about it that we decided to offer 60% off our Exploration Pack! Winter Fest ends on January 31st, so don’t you dare sleep on all the fun.
Our community proved once again why it’s the best around. Players held not one, but two fun Christmas competitions on our Discord server. This is undoubtedly one of the most amazing things our community does for each other, and we are thrilled to see it.
DayZ
December marked 10 years of survival for DayZ. The team celebrated this remarkable milestone with in-game assets and events, as well as anniversary merch.
We merged our annual in-game Christmas event with our 10-year anniversary event. You can see a few community members below who found some of the seasonal and special goodies we put in the game.
We kept the mood at an all-time high by collaborating with the community and bringing back the Light's Out event—a PVP event that featured over 100 streamers. This included DayZ's most active community leaders, as well as influential streamers like summit1g.
The end of the year and our 10th anniversary put us in an introspective mood. That’s why we released this Q&A video with our team leads, an abridged version of our journey, our year in review for 2023 (along with an accompanying article), and our love letter to the community and the content it creates in a special Community Spotlight.
Arma Reforger
The team created a special Christmas mod and held a one-of-a-kind Holiday Play session where the Blue Elves faced off against the Red Gnomes in an unforgettable Capture and Hold match at Montfort Castle.
We also released Arma Reforger Deluxe Edition! This special edition game package includes the base game, the Arma Reforger soundtrack, and a selection of exclusive assets. Those who already owned the game on Steam received all of the additional assets for free.
The Arma Reforger soundtrack received an upgrade in the form of two additional discs of music. The discs include the music that’s heard on the airwaves of Everon, as well as the backing tracks to the Arma Reforger trailers. Finally, we released a brand new official Arma map. Thanks to the printed Everon and Arland maps, you can now be sure that you'll never get lost on the expansive islands again!
Arma 3
We received a ton of amazing screenshot submissions for our Czech Veterans Day screenshot initiative with Civiliste Dekuji. It wasn’t easy, but we managed to select three winners who we felt really stood out. Congratulations to Scarecrow, TheAMD, and Druenn_TRD for your amazing work!
Silica
Yet another update landed on Baltarus in December. The latest changes include Silica’s long-awaited Dedicated Servers. You can learn all about it here.
