Travel With Warlords

Hei Outlanders.

We return to standard updates after a minor compatibility update on Xbox and the big release on Switch. Welcome to post-war Norway, both new Outlanders and seasoned veterans alike. You were able to face each other for quite some time, we have a good deal of improvements and new things ready for you. You won't be able to see many of the improvements at first glance, yet they are as important as the visible things.

The New Spectator

Possibly one of the biggest improvements is an overhaul of the spectator mode in Encounters. The ability to spectate your killer was available for quite some time and we realized some parts don't work as well as we would expect. You'll most likely notice the improvements in sounds – you’re going to hear what the spectated player would hear instead of listening to sounds around your corpse. That connects even to the animations you see, it should look better as well. We’re working on bringing this even to other game modes like Shootout and Elimination. Speaking of Elimination, we realized this is a must-have before we put in the possibility to join as a team - free camera spectating with the possibility to disclose the enemy’s location sounds like a bad idea. We found another thing that sounds like a bad idea in the loading of the Shelter - you may find it a bit longer now, and it should prevent some of the issues you might have faced before the game received all information from our cloud servers.

Even More Rewards

There are even new things we added with Update 4.1. One of them is the possibility to earn Battle Pass XP for simply exploring the map - you gain XP for distance travelled in the Encounter. And as we’re tracking that on a bigger scale than before, we even added a new line of titles for running around Outlands. There are two new titles connected to collecting all the mementos in both the troll and lighter categories. Both these ideas started from the feedback of our community and we’re happy to introduce them in the game.

Character Screen & Airdrop

We left the character screen a bit behind with the addition of Shootout and Elimination. While we’re working on additional improvements in this regard, we addressed at least the possibility to use both your loadout and scoreboard at once. There are more tweaks that we’d like to do in this area for the future. And the same goes even for a seemingly minor change – you’re not able to have multiple boxes of valuables and buried cache photos in your inventory anymore. This far it affects mainly duo players. We think this may create a nice dynamic both in random duos and premade teams alike. It allows us to bring in some more interesting aspects for the future even for solo Outlanders.

Warlords Battle Pass

It was easy to notice that Warlords Battle Pass is pretty well received, judging by the sheer number of Outlanders we meet with Premium tier in the Encounter lobby. There may be more reasons for that, be it the lower price, military setting, or simply the stunning work of our artists. We decided to push it even more as we’re halfway through the season already. We added an option to buy the premium tier of Battle Pass with additional levels at a discount. Should you jump into post-war Norway now, you’re able to get a kick-start to reach even the highest rewards. And there's one special thing about the way we handle this - if you already have some Battle Pass levels this season, purchasing the bundle pushes you even more. Last, but definitely not least, the Warlords season is going to be a bit longer to provide enough time for everyone, including the new Outlanders on Switch. Feel free to use the time to reach for all of the rewards.

There are many improvements under the hood as you can see in the detailed changelog. We focused on improving the experience and the focus should stay the same even in the near future. Your feedback is invaluable for us in this regard as it allows us to focus on the right things, thanks a lot for that.

See you in post-war Norway.
