Vigor Chronicles: Reckoning - Season 14

Hei Outlanders,

The first major update of 2023 is here and packed with a bunch cool stuff like a brand new Shootout Map, new lore cassettes, the new M4A1 Assault Rifle and much more! So now, that we have your attention let's jump right into it.

Unleash Reckoning on your foes!

A man who lost the only thing that mattered to him, must find a way to endure the apocalypse. That is the story that you'll get to discover from the 7 cassettes available in Loot Events in Encounters! The Battle Pass this time, is inspired by a post-apocalyptic "Dieselpunk" theme with lots of assets straight from a welder's worst nightmare! We really hope that you'll enjoy this one as it's like nothing we've done before.

Besides all these cool-looking apocalyptic cosmetics, there's something else in the Battle Pass that will be exciting for our shooters. The new Assault Rifle M4A1 joins the fray! This devastating Assault Rifle will be Military Grade and is sure to provide much thrills in every game mode! And one last fun fact about the M4A1: during our last feedback survey, this was one of the most requested weapons from our community!

Hello From The Other Side...Of The Border!

Say hello to Myren! It translates to the "the marsh" from Norwegian, and you'll get to find out why once you experience it yourself. We're extremely proud to be able to release a new map, as it's been one of the most requested features from our community. And now, finally, the wait is over!

Myren is situated on the Norwegian-Russian border with the imposing toll booth station stealing the spotlight from the area, as well as the striking mountains in the back. You can try and imagine how the scenery looked before, during and after the apocalypse.

We're releasing Myren in the same format as we did with Kjerstin a while back - meaning the map will be available as a Shootout first, with plans to release it as a full Encounter map in the near horizon. Until then, we hope you'll enjoy all the mayhem that will ensue in the muddy, murky craters near the border...

Be Careful Where You Step In The Outlands...

Encounters have just become more dangerous with the latest addition - the Bear Trap! This specific consumable (tool) has been requested by our community for quite a while.

The Bear Trap can be placed on the ground and a player may trigger it by walking over it which will result in slowing down the player quite significantly for a short while (and taking a little bit of damage as well). After the initial effect, players will sustain permanent damage to their max stamina for the rest of the match or until death. There will also be a persistent damage to stamina regeneration speed but that can be countered by using specific consumables.

The rarity of the Bear Trap will be Uncommon, which means you can carry up to 5 of them with you in Encounter and place them strategically around the map! Be careful though. Not all places are suitable for the Bear Trap. You won't be able to place the trap on single lootable objects, on moving objects, in water, on cars/trucks, on stairs and you won't be able to place it down vertically.

Vote Kick System Added In Eliminations!

That's right folks! If a player behaves inappropriately in Eliminations, you can now start a vote to have that Outlander removed from the match. Voting can be initiated in the scoreboard 25 seconds after the start of the match. Each player can initiate voting up to 3 times in one match. One round of voting can take up to 20 seconds if some players don't vote. If an Outlander doesn't vote during the voting phase, his vote will be evaluated as "no". If more than 50% of the players voted "yes", the Outlander that was voted to be kicked will be kicked within 3 seconds.

We've Got A New Performance Mode For Xbox Series X!

What that means, is that you can enjoy Vigor with an uncapped frame rate on Xbox Series X. The Performance Mode is available in the "Options" menu on Xbox Series X and can be enabled or disabled. The mode uncaps the game's frame rate for a smooth and low-input latency gameplay experience. In this mode, the game runs at up to 120 frames per second while reducing the game's resolution to 1080p. If you have a compatible display, you can go to your console's settings and go to the General tab. When you navigate to "TV & display options", you can select the "Refresh rate" option, and select 120 Hz. Additionally, if your display is compatible, you can enable the "Variable refresh rate". With this setting activated, you can enjoy extra smoothness in terms of graphics! If the Performance Mode is disabled, you will continue to have the game rendering in 4K at 60 frames per second.

Some More Good News For You

These might be considered as quality of life changes, but still, we hope you'll be happy to know that your purchased weapons skins will be visible in Shootout and Eliminations! Yup! You can now freely showcase your favorite weapon skins in all game modes.

We also added map-specific loadouts in Shooutout! That means, that each Shootout map will offer a different pool of weapons based on the location, distance, layout etc. So you're not going to find the same pool of weapon on Kjerstin, Sagbruk or Myren!
