Vigor - Get ready for the holidays in Update 6.1
Hei Outlanders,
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas out there, which means it’s time for another update! That’s right – Santa Claus is coming to the Outlands and bringing lovely décor and a holiday edition of the airdrop with him.
But wait, there’s more!
This time around we’ve given the Shelter some extra love so you can experience it and its surrounding area covered in snow for the very first time. How cool is that? Almost as cool as the fresh screenshots we can’t wait to receive from your cozy little homes.
Stay in Your Shelter
Aside from the snow, you can also see a few other decorations here and there. And you definitely don’t want to miss our Holiday Shop that will be chock full of hats and sweaters from December 1st to December 26th. So whatever you do, don’t forget to log in around Christmas Day. 
Furthermore, we made a small addition to the armory. Now you can see your favorite loadout displayed nicely on the table.
Freezing Cold
Let’s move on to the Encounters and Shootout, shall we?
Arguably the nicest thing we’ve added is a new system of rewards in Shootout. This will make it even more tempting to engage in and enjoy an intense gunfight.
Speaking of shooting, we’ve also made some improvements to the aim assist. This should make for a smoother feel overall, and we look forward to hearing how well it plays now. One more thing we hope you’ll appreciate is our tweaking of multiple uniforms that were blocking the view during first-person aiming.
For those of you who swear by Encounters, we have two new events you might be interested in.
First off, we’ve added a locked container, which offers another great place for looters. How you open the locked container is solely up to you. If you want to keep a low profile and not bring attention to yourself, then you’ll have to figure out the combination on the lock. For those of you not interested in the stealthy approach, you can simply shoot the lock off the container and accept the risk that someone will probably hear the gunshots.
We’ve also added a timed safe which challenges those Outlanders who have a strong craving for loot. To unlock the timed safe, players will need to activate two switches which can be found near the safe. You’ll only have 25 seconds to do so, however, so there’s no time to waste. Good luck to those who give it a shot. We know you can do it!
What's Next?
We would like to offer our sincerest apologies to all of you who’ve been patiently waiting for Vigor’s release on PS4 and PS5. We experienced an unforeseen hiccup and were forced to delay the release. But fear not because the pesky delay should only last a couple of weeks. Our goal is to get everything ready for Holiday 2020, which will give PlayStation fans plenty of time to grind during the holidays.
In closing, we’d just like to add that many of our devs are working from home again. A small point, perhaps, but one we felt like sharing with you.
