Bohemia Interactive in 2023

Last year was quite busy for Bohemia Interactive, as you might expect. We had plenty of new updates, projects, and releases, including Silica, Someday You'll Return: Director's Cut, and Ylands EDU. Not only that, but our games have been enjoyed by 17 million unique players around the world, and we are truly grateful for your tireless support. That’s why we’ve prepared a new graphic (see below), as well as a quick post that summarizes a few of our accomplishments during the past year.

Someday You'll Return: Director's Cut

In March, we had the honor of publishing Director's Cut of the critically acclaimed psychological horror Someday You'll Return. The game received a significant upgrade from CBE Software, thanks to which the expanded version offers hundreds of additions and improvements in both content and gameplay.

The game has also been ported to consoles for the very first time, and is now available for PC on Steam and PlayStation.

New Bohemia Incubator

We introduced our new and improved Bohemia Incubator in April.

Bohemia Incubator allows indie game developers to develop their prototypes and get the help they need to prepare their products for full release. The Incubator also offers financial support and publishing services to original projects with a unique vision. All you need is a playable prototype and an unquenchable desire to flourish.

The first title to be released under Bohemia Incubator was Silica, which entered Early Access on Steam.

Silica is an RTS/FPS crossover set on the fictional planet of Baltarus. Players can choose to play as a Commander in RTS mode or as an infantry soldier in FPS mode, who controls all units and vehicles, along with their arsenal.

Here’s what you can expect from Silica in 2024:

Ylands 2.0

We ushered in a new era of Ylands in mid-April. Update 2.0 introduced the game's first campaign-like yland, as well as an improved tutorial, a guide that helps players navigate the game and introduces them to the lore of Ylands, and a host of other combat, crafting, and quality-of-life improvements.

Ylands EDU

We have also launched a pilot program called Ylands EDU, which is meant to serve as an educational tool to develop computational and creative thinking skills. Ylands EDU saves teachers plenty of time and helps to stimulate their students’ interest in learning. Furthermore, Ylands EDU guarantees less preparation time for Czech schools and easy implementation in the classroom. It also offers game creation for students, unlimited possibilities for enthusiasts, all the accompanying materials you could possibly need, and the support of our game studio.

Arma Reforger 1.0

Arma Reforger left Early Access in November and introduced version 1.0. The update included the completion of features in the Ground Support milestone, as well as the addition of helicopters and a complete overhaul of the supply system.

This is by no means the end of Arma Reforger’s development, however. Our team continues to work tirelessly to fulfill the plans listed in the project's Roadmap.

Arma Reforger is currently available on Steam and Xbox.

We are happy to announce that our family of Bohemians grew to 492 people in 2023 and now represents 33 unique nationalities.

We also opened two new offices in the beautiful city of Prague, and held a teambuilding event in September in the form of a boat party on the Vltava River.

A grand total of 6 International Nights (i.e. more parties) were held last year. The aim of these events is to bring Bohemians together and introduce them to new and exciting cultures of their co-workers. International Nights are always organized by our HR and Operations departments, with colleague from selected countries getting involved with the events. Traditional food and drinks, along with presentations and other fun activities, are always enjoyed and never to be missed! If you'd like to join our ranks, be sure to check out our Careers page.

Finally, we’d like to end by thanking you, our wonderful community, for your continued support, loyalty, feedback, and creativity.

There’s a lot to look forward to in 2024!

So, take care and stay tuned.
